SpinBite™

Stop thinking. Start eating.

← Back to the wheel

SpinBite exists because of one conversation, repeated roughly ten thousand times:

"Where do you want to eat?"
"I don't care, you pick."
"I picked last time."
"Well I don't care."
(both people starve)

With a coworker at noon, with your significant other at seven, alone in your car at 11:58 AM — the hardest part of lunch was never the eating. It was the deciding. So I stopped deciding. I built a wheel, filled it with every restaurant nearby, and let physics take the blame.

Set your tastes once, spin, and go eat. And if you spin six times hunting for a "better" answer — the wheel will have words with you.

One person. That’s the whole staff.

No team, no office, no investors, no support department. SpinBite is a side project built and run by one person who got tired of the conversation up there.

So when something breaks, I’m the one who fixes it. When you tap “Tell me what sucks,” it goes to me and nobody else — and I read every single one. It’s also why a rough edge sometimes sticks around longer than it should. There’s only one of me.

How do I "pick" a place?

You don't have to press anything ceremonial. Tap Directions, the menu, or Call on the ticket and go. That tap also saves the spot to your history (so the "✨ New to me" filter can hide places you've already checked out) and wipes your guilt-trip slate clean. Nothing gets booked or called on your behalf.

What's the difference between "Not today" and "Never again"?

"Not today" pulls a spot off the wheel until midnight — for when the line's too long or you had it yesterday. "Never again" is permanent... until you forgive them. Your full list lives under 🍽 Show me the restaurants → 🚫 Vetoed spots.

What do the ⭐ favorites do?

Favorites are wheel royalty. They skip the rating filter, the cuisine filter, and the cuisine cap — the only ways off the wheel are a veto or a price filter. Star a place from its winner ticket.

What's 🎲 Surprise me?

Instead of every eligible restaurant, the wheel grabs a random 12 each spin (favorites always make the cut). Every spin is a different wheel.

Why is the same chain only on the wheel once?

Five Taco Bells shouldn't mean five slices of Taco Bell odds. Chains get one slice; if it wins, the ticket lists every location near you, closest first.

Where does the restaurant data come from?

Google Maps — names, ratings, prices, hours, and the vegetarian-friendly flag all come from Google's data, refreshed daily. If something's wrong (it happens), the veto button is right there.

Why does the app keep making fun of me for re-spinning?

Because you said you'd let the wheel decide, and the wheel has a long memory and thin patience. Actually go somewhere — tap Directions or the menu — and the slate is wiped clean.
